News and Announcements
The Timmins Charitable Gaming Association operates the Jackpot City location for gaming and entertainment. They remain committed to the community and support a huge range of clubs, teams and organizations through the distribution of the proceeds from gaming.
TSR would like to express our thanks for the ongoing support from the Timmins Charitable Gaming Association. The funds allow the Club to keep our registration fees as one of the lowest in the province, making skiing and racing accessible.
The TSR AGM will be held at 7PM on October 21, 2020 via Zoom due to Covid restrictions. We have attempted to notify all club families but feel free to contact the board for the link if you wish to attend .
The Board (Thanks Julie!!!) has prepared guidelines for safety in training for the upcoming season. These are adapted from national and provincial guidelines for sport to meet the specific needs of the Timmins Ski Racers and will apply for the upcoming season. Updates are always possible as things can change rapidly as the year progresses. Please take the time to read the protocols which are also available on the Resource Page.
The document TSR_COVID_PROTOCOLS.pdf was attached to this post.
WE ARE BACK!
After an abrupt end to the last ski season, preparations are underway for the upcoming year. While the pandemic continues and makes changes necessary, skiing remains an outdoor, easily distanced activity making it ideal for keeping active over the winter.
The TSR Board, under direction from our regulating bodies and our local resort, is hard at work ironing out the details of changes that will have to occur this season to protect our athletes and keep everyone healthy. Rest assured, we will be doing everything possible to keep ski training as ‘normal’ as possible. Details will follow as they become available and we ask for everyone’s patience as things could change during the season based upon local events.
Registration for the TSR 2020/21 season will take place at the Timmins Ski Racers chalet on Sunday, October 4 from 1-3PM. The paperwork has gradually increased over the last few years so be sure to check the Resource page for all the forms that will need to be filled out for registration. We have not yet been able to implement a paperless format but you can bring the important signed forms with you to speed up the process.
The evolving global pandemic has lead to many sports cancellations. Skiing has not escaped and all further races, including the Timmins Slalom Derby have been cancelled. This is unfortunate but we have to look out for each other and try to stay healthy for next season. Keep Active. Train hard. Wash your hands.
